Introduction to the
The diversified design of the wear-resisting tester is suitable for all kinds of wear-resisting and wet-resisting tests.
Commonly used in interior wall paint, floor tile, shower room and furniture surfaces for scrubbing tests.
Coated or uncoated surfaces require a brush, sponge, cloths, sandpaper, or other method to test their resistance to scrubbing.
Resistance to friction can be tested by adding a rubbing agent or cleaner using a wet scrub.
The test principle of
1. Driven by the motor, the friction head is driven to reciprocate.
At the same time, according to different standard test requirements, adjust the motion speed and motion stroke of the instrument;
2. Different standards require different friction heads, including polyurethane sponge, pig MAO brush, etc.
By changing the friction head, the requirements of different standards can be achieved and different forces can be loaded.
Test standard
This horizontal combustion tester meets but is not limited to the following standards:
Paint and varnish: ISO 11998;
Interior wall coating: ASTM D3450, ASTM D4213, ASTM D4828;
ASTM D2486
Floor wax: ASTM D1792, ASTM D3206, ASTM D3207.

Selected listing
The scrub brush kit shall be customized according to different tester requirements and standards, subject to the actual order:
1 main engine;
1 pallet;
2 fastening clamps;
Glass liner 1 piece;
1 copper strip (equipped according to the contract and use standard);
1 set of brushes (provided according to the contract and use standard) of general type, 1.5×3.5in(38.12×88.9mm);
Can be placed in the brush base 5074;
1 power cord;
The instrument is mainly composed of the main engine case and scrubbing brush. Each part is composed of:
The instrument (with horizontal legs) is fitted with a covering plate with a steel trough on which a sample clamping device is placed.
Two brushes, sponges or scrubbing pads are fixed to the bracket and cantilever.
Linear forward and backward movement is achieved by an electric motor and transmission through an eccentric wheel and wire pulling device.
A pre-set 8-digit counter is installed to record the number of cycles (front and back motion), and the scrubbing power is precisely provided by an adjustable peristaltic pump.
The control interface can adjust the operation parameters: the number of scrubbing cycles, the motion frequency of the scrubbing brush, etc.
steps
Instrument to
The test instrument shall be installed in an appropriate position without interference by sundries and obvious dust. Meanwhile, the swabbing test instrument shall be placed at an appropriate height for the tester to operate.
Plug it in and turn on the power switch next to it.
Suitable for ordinary power supply: 220V, 50Hz;
Use the bubble level to level the instrument, adjust the four feet at the bottom of the instrument until the surface level of the instrument, so that the instrument is stable without shaking;
Put the bearing disc, and put the indentation on the top of the instrument around the bearing disc.
The instrument is equipped with two compression spring clips for holding the sample.
It can be lifted or lowered by inserting it into the hole in the back end. When pressed, it can press the sample to be supported.
Sample preparation and testing
Different materials correspond to different test standards, and their respective preparation methods and required quantities are not the same.
The preparation of samples should be carried out according to different test standards
Take ASTM D 2486 for example.
Test Method A
Fully stir the test coating to remove all bubbles and particles.
Three coatings are pulled for each coating.
Scrape off the paint using the same 0.18mm clearance film coating model on the black plastic panel.
The coating time from one end to the other is about 3~4s, to prevent the formation of bubbles or holes in the film.
Under the conditions of 23±2℃ and 50±5% relative humidity, it was placed horizontally in the air and dried for 7 days.
Soak the brush in water.
Place the sample plate on the bearing tray of the scrub tester.
Make sure the copper strip gasket is smooth and free of burrs and placed perpendicular to the brush path.
Gently wipe the sample board and place it over the copper strip, paint facing up.
Make sure there are no defects in the sample film above the copper sheet and that the test area is horizontal.
Place the positioning frame on the plate and clamp.
At the beginning of the test, make sure that the brush has pretreated 400 cycles.
Take out the brush and shake out the excess water.
Stir evenly the scrubbing medium, take out about 10g and spread evenly on the sample.
Place the brush at one end of the path.
Wetting the panel with 5mL water in the path of the brush.
Start testing.
After 400 cycles, if the brush does not fail, take out the brush (do not rinse), add 10 g of scrubbing medium again, and add 5 mL of water in the path of the brush, and continue scrubbing.
When a continuous fine line is scrubbed out from the copper strip on the width of 12.7mm, the number of cycles is recorded.
If necessary, stop the machine and wipe the gasket area to determine if the end point has been reached.
Test the two coatings.
If the two results differ by more than 30% of the mean, test the third coating.
Discard one of the three results that is too skewed, and average the remaining results.
Test Method B
Fully stir the test coating and reference coating to remove all bubbles and particles.
Two coatings are drawn side by side according to the procedure described above.
Prepare three sets of sample plates for each test paint (including reference paint).
The coating should be pulled out at the same time as possible, and the coating part should be in the middle of the sample.
Dry for 7 days under standard conditions.
Similar to method A, the sample plate and 2 copper strips were placed and fixed.
It is suggested to change the position of the test paint and reference paint in the two sample plates for testing.
That is, one sample plate on the right is the reference paint, and the second sample plate on the left is the reference paint.
The number of cycles of continuous fine lines (scrub marks) appearing above the test paint and the reference paint were recorded respectively.
If necessary, stop and wipe the copper strip area to determine if the test end point has been reached.
Test the two coatings.
If the two results differ by more than 30% of the mean, test the third coating.
Discard one of the three results that is too skewed, and average the remaining results.
Lab report
Report the following information:
When using Test Method A, report the average scrub failure.
When using test method B, the following percentages are reported:
If:
Results & gt;
100%, the test coating has better scrubbing resistance than the reference coating.
If:
Results & lt;
100%, the test paint has worse scrubbing resistance than the reference paint.
The method used (test method A or test method B).
Use the reference coating if using test method B.
