[Scope of application] : Used for determination of geotextiles and composite geotextiles by effective aperture dry sieve method.

[Principle of the instrument] : using geotextile samples as the screen, the known diameter of the standard particle material on the geotextile vibrating screen, the weight of the geotextile standard particle material weight calculated the screening rate, the exchange of different diameters of the standard particle material test, thus draw geotextile aperture distribution curve, and find out the value of O90

[Test steps] :


1. Before the test, the standard granular materials and samples should be placed under the standard atmosphere for moisture control balance.


2. Place the flat and wrinkle-free samples in the same group on the support mesh screen that can support the samples but not concave.


3. Weigh 50g of standard granular materials with relatively fine particle sizes, and sprinkle them evenly on the sample surface.


4. Clamp the screen frame, sample and connecting plate on the vibrating screen machine.

Start the machine and shake the sample for 10min.


5. After power off, weigh the standard particle material quality through the sample, accurate to 0.01g, and then better the new sample.

Repeat the above steps with the next set of coarser standard granular materials until the sieving rate of not less than three groups of continuously graded standard granular materials is obtained, with one group having a sieving rate of less than 5%

】 【 test principle: to monolayer nonwoven fabric and its related products without tension specimen as screen mesh, under the rules of vibration frequency and amplitude, nozzle pressure and nozzle under the water, on the sample and graded granular material (usually sand) for water jet, the particle size distribution of the material through the sample, in order to pass the particle material and specific effective aperture size according to sample.

[Operation steps:]


1. Place the sample in water containing wetting agent at laboratory temperature for at least 12 hours to make it saturated.


2. Take the sample out of the water and clamp it into the clamping device in a flat and tension-free way. Place the clamping device on the screening instrument and make the sample be placed horizontally to avoid the accumulation of granular materials in one position of the sample.


3. Dry weight of granular material is determined to be accurate to 0.1kg. If the passing amount of granular material is insufficient, it should be increased to the total input amount of granular material to ensure that enough particles pass for particle size analysis.


4. Evenly distribute the granular materials in the sample.


5. Open the water spraying switch to spray water evenly on the whole sample, and adjust the water amount with the regulating valve to ensure that the granular materials are completely wet, but the water surface is not allowed to be higher than the granular materials, and there is no water to stay on the sample, so as to keep the water spraying throughout the screening process.


6. Start the screening device and adjust the amplitude to 1.5mm.


7. Collect the granular materials passing through the sample.


8. After screening for 600s, close the screening device and turn off the water jet switch.


9. Collect the sample together with the particle materials that have not passed.


10. According to GB/T9995 standard, dry weight of samples with granular materials passing and samples with granular materials failing passing shall be determined respectively.


11. After deducting the dry weight of the sample, the dry weight of the failed granular material is obtained, which is accurate to 0.1g. If the difference between the total mass of the failed and passed granular material and the initial put mass is more than 1%, the test is invalid and samples need to be re-tested.


12. Repeat the above test steps until three of the five samples have been tested.


13. Make a list of the initial input amount, passed amount and failed amount of granular material, and calculate the percentage of granular material with excess and loss amount.


If the amount of granular material passing through one specimen exceeds 25% of the mean value of the three specimens, the remaining two specimens shall be tested.
